Street Driver is a comedic action series consisting of 36 episodes, each 2 minutes long, made using stop-motion and digital 2D animation. The theme of the episodes revolves around the driving license exam, approached with irony and caricature. The series features 6 examiners and 6 candidates, with one representative from each group “drawn by lot” in each episode. The stress, real difficulties, and myths surrounding the driving test are explored throughout the series. This exam, common to everyone, is taken by highly stereotyped characters.
Rocío Alvarez is a Spanish painter, illustrator, and animation film director based in Belgium. After graduating from the University of Fine Arts in Spain, she continued her training at La Poudrière – School of Animation Film in France. She creates animated films, posters, and murals using various techniques, always characterized by vibrant colors and an expressive line, making each project a personal challenge. Her animated short Simbiosis Carnal had an international run and won multiple awards. In Belgium, she has created numerous murals for STIB, the Circularium, City Gate, and others.
