Vincent Bierrewaerts was born on November 14, 1973, in Braine-le-Comte, Belgium. After secondary studies focused on visual arts, he enrolled at the National School of Visual Arts of La Cambre (ENSAV), graduating in 2001. One of his student films, Bouf, made in 1998, won the Golden Palm at the World Short Film Festival in Huy in 1999. A prolific artist, Vincent Bierrewaerts strives with each new short film to find the technique that best serves the story he wants to tell. Thus, his work spans from animated rope to CGI, puppetry, and traditional animation. His first professional film, Le Portefeuille, won numerous awards, including the Grand Prize at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival in 2004.
